Project Description

Dental Implants

I have found that dental implants are truly able to enhance the quality of life for our patients in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Dental implants can improve our patients’ overall health while helping them gain the confidence that comes from a well-functioning smile that looks good and feels natural.
You have probably had already met someone with Dental implants and didn’t even know it. Tooth Implants are completely natural-looking and have saved thousands of beautiful smiles.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are essentially comprised of titanium posts. These posts are surgically implanted in the jawbone beneath missing or extracted teeth. These posts support several variations of tooth restorations including single crowns, dental bridges, or a set of dentures.
As one of the most revolutionary advances in modern dentistry, dental implants replace missing teeth with results that look, act, and feel like natural teeth.

What is the difference between a dental implant and a denture?

Unlike traditional dentures, dental implants are designed to become a permanent part of your mouth – there is no possibility of slippage or movement along the gums.
Each implant is custom-designed to improve both the form and function of your teeth with natural-looking results.

How long do implants last?

When properly cared for, implants can last as long as natural teeth, or longer.
Although the implant and implant restoration can’t become decayed, the gum surrounding the implant is still susceptible to periodontal disease.
Regular brushing and dental cleaning and checkups are still necessary to ensure your implants remain in good shape.

The process of placing a dental implant involves multiple steps, including:

  • Damaged tooth removal

  • Jawbone preparation (grafting), when needed

  • Dental implant placement

  • Bone growth and healing

  • Abutment placement

  • Artificial tooth placement
